Some of the most important accomplishments for our wines
Chinchilla 05: Sponsor of Juan A. Rodríguez, best cook of the year 2009
Bodega Doña Felisa joins Juan A. Rodríguez, Andalusian winner of the contest “best Spanish chef of 2009”, who, in turn, will represent Spain in Paris.
Juan Andrés Rodríguez Morilla, owner and executive chief of the Restaurant “El Claustro”, located in the Hotel Santa Paula in Granada, won the mentioned contest, celebrated in Madrid in the “Salon del Gourmet”, between the 31st of March and the 1st of April. He was then invited to attend the world contest of chefs, as a result of his first place in the Spanish contest.
This year he will attend the Bocuse d´Or, the world´s most important international competition, which takes place in Lyon (France) every two years.
However, beforehand he must attend the European contest, which will take place in Norway in 2010. 10 of the finalists (of 20) will come from Europe, while the rest, up to 24 chefs, will come from Asia and America.
Our wines are served at his restaurant.

SOLD OUT: Aloque 08, the new Rosé of Chinchilla
As previously stated, the May 26th launch of Doña Felisa Winery's new rosé, Aloque 08, depleted existing inventories within two months. By April, the winery's most loyal clients had already reserved 3,000 bottles. This rosé has been lauded as “surprising, spectacular, and unbeatable” by expert forums, sommeliers and professionals.
This product may still be found in some restaurants, which keep it for their best clients. However, the winery will not have any more Aloque 08 until next year. José María Losantos, enologe and owner of the winery has astounded us by committing to launch a new and improved rosé of the same production, even if the last one was sold in 2 months. Once more our winery promises to offer small quantities and the best quality.

PASARELA GASTRONÓMICA ALIATAR
On Thursday, the 21st May, the Gourmet Pablo Amate prepared the food fair together with the restaurant “El Claustro”, property of Juan A. Rodríguez, best chef of the year 2009, which served our wines with his specialties again (Chinchilla seis + seis)
It was an extraordinary event, and 250 people attended behind closed doors. Among these people
were some of Granada´s best restaurateurs.

CHINCHILLA CONARTE IN NEW YORK
On the 18th March, Málaga Conarte appeared with the “Grupo Peñín”, in the Museum of Natural Sciences of New York. There was the limited edition of “Chinchilla Conarte” an excellent wine which is suitable to age (vino de guarda).
CHINCHILLA EN FENAVIN
Bodega Doña Felisa attended Fenavin, together with the Regulatory Council of Malaga. We were able to receive all our collaborators and exhibitors at a stand which we had at our disposal.
Fenavin ´09, the National Wine Fair, took place in Ciudad Real on the 5th of May and enabled Ciudad Real to become the wine capital of the world. It was an interesting enological event where the most of the Spanish wineries and cooperatives took part in order to promote their wines.
There is no doubt about the fact that Fenavin ´09 will “catch the eye” of the enological world globally for three days. This show is a must for professionals in this field

CHINCHILLA 6+6 AT THE 7TH RONDA´S HAM SLICERS CONTEST
At the celebration of the “Real Feria de Mayo”, we were also able to enjoy the 7th Ronda´s ham slicers’ contest, in which Chinchilla collaborated again with the prizes.
The goal of this contest is to acknowledge and reward the professional ham slicer who shows the best skills by slicing ham.

WINE ROUTES WITH CHINCHILLA CONARTE IN NEW YORK
Last Monday, the 18th March, the director of the Wine Routes, Cristina Alonso, joined us in New York.

The Andalusian Department of Fish and Agriculture has presented the new campaigne Calidad Certificada (Certified Quality), whose slogan “Está de lujo” (luxury!) makes evident the excellence of Andalusian products which have been labelled with this stamp and shows what a gastronomical culture the Andalusians have as well as their tendency for exquisiteness.
